FEATHER & TAIL
A gentle two-friend stealth game where nobody gets hurt.
Made for the GIC Mini game jam. Theme: Pacifist.
A monkey and a swan are lost in a garden maze full of teddy-bear guards. They can't fight, and they don't want to. Gather all the fruit, then reach the magical fountain together, using only brains, teamwork and a lot of bushes.
MEET THE TEAM
MNKI (the monkey) walks the ground:
- Cuts through hedges to open new paths
- Safely disarms traps so no teddy ever gets hurt
- Hides in bushes to vanish from sight
Swan flies above the maze:
- Scouts ahead and sees much farther
- Chirps to lure curious teddies away
- Reaches the fruit that grows in the trees
Swap who leads at any time. Send your partner to a spot you've scouted, or tell them to wait while you work.
THE CATCH: THE PACIFIST RULE
Nobody fights, and nobody may be harmed. If a teddy runs into a trap you left armed, the run is over. So you have to think about where the teddies walk, and disarm the danger before they reach it.
WHEN THE TEDDY POLICE COME
Get spotted and a siren teddy chases MNKI, getting faster the longer it keeps you in sight. MNKI sprints automatically, the screen flashes red and blue, and one stumble is forgiven, but the second grab walks you back to the gate. Break line of sight and dive into a bush to lose it. Pull it off with a teddy right behind you and you earn a CLOSE CALL.
Watch out for the sling teddies on the watchtowers too. They aim at Swan, so keep moving to dodge the pebbles.

Install instructions
CONTROLS (PC)
- Move: WASD or arrow keys
- Swap who leads: Tab
- Send your partner somewhere: click the map (right-click or X to cancel)
- MNKI: hold F to cut a hedge, hold E to disarm a trap, hold Shift to sneak
- Swan: Space to chirp
- Partner: H to hold or follow
- Pause: Esc, Restart: R, Mute: M, Fullscreen: F11
Phone / tablet: play in landscape. Left joystick to move, on-screen buttons for actions, tap the map to send your partner, tap SWAP to change leader.
DOWNLOAD & PLAY
- Play in your browser: no install, just press Run game above
- Windows: extract the zip, then run Feather&Tail.exe
- Linux: extract the zip, run chmod +x FeatherAndTail.x86_64, then ./FeatherAndTail.x86_64
- Android: download the .apk and tap to install (allow installs from this source if asked)
Windows may warn "Windows protected your PC". Click More info, then Run anyway. Android may warn about an unrecognised app. Choose Install anyway. Both are normal for jam games that aren't signed.
